Installation & Care

1. Professional installation required

SERA does not provide installation services. Handmade and natural materials must be installed by qualified professionals experienced with zellige, bejmat, cement tiles, terracotta, terrazzo, mosaics or the relevant material.

2. Inspect before installation

All goods must be inspected before cutting, installation, grouting, sealing or treatment. The customer and installer must check quantity, colour range, batch consistency, visible defects and suitability for the intended installation before work begins.

Do not install, cut, grout, seal or treat tiles with visible issues before contacting SERA.

3. Suitability and substrate

The customer and installer are responsible for confirming that the product is suitable for the intended use and that the substrate, adhesive, grout, sealing, waterproofing and movement joints are appropriate.

For wet areas, the installer must confirm suitable substrate preparation, waterproofing, adhesive, grout, sealing and maintenance before installation.

4. Handmade tolerance and blending

Handmade tiles should be blended from multiple boxes before installation to balance natural shade, surface and size variation. Layout, spacing, joint width and selection should be planned before fixing.

5. Sealing and care

Some materials, including cement tiles, terracotta and certain porous surfaces, may require sealing before and/or after installation. Use only products suitable for the specific material.

Avoid aggressive cleaners, acids, abrasive products and unsuitable chemicals. Cleaning and maintenance should follow the relevant material-specific guide or installer recommendations.

6. Claims after installation

SERA does not accept claims after cutting, installation, grouting, sealing or treatment for visible issues that could reasonably have been identified beforehand. This does not affect B2C consumers' mandatory rights for hidden defects or non-conformities that could not reasonably have been identified before installation.

7. Material-specific guides

Material-specific installation and care guidance may apply to zellige, bejmat, cement tile, terracotta, terrazzo and mosaic. Customers and installers should review the applicable guide before installation.
